Maggie, Lydia, and Elijah flee from Commonwealth soldiers led by Lance Hornsby. Maggie is eventually captured by Leah, who seeks revenge for the death of her "family," the Reapers. After a brutal physical struggle, Daryl arrives and kills Leah to save Maggie.

Hornsby survives the skirmish with a scar on his face from a bullet graze. The final shot shows him flipping a coin to decide the fate of the residents of Oceanside, who have been rounded up and bound. Maggie, Lydia, and Elijah flee from Commonwealth soldiers

While ostensibly working for the Commonwealth, the trio realizes they are being set up to be executed. They engage in a massive shootout with Commonwealth "stormtroopers" in an abandoned salvage yard. Commonwealth banners are hung over the gates of
