The grasslands of the highveld were silent, save for the rhythmic pulse of the earth itself. Legend spoke of , a warrior whose speed was so great that he was said to "run like the wind". He wasn’t just a fighter; he was a shadow in the moonlight, a flash of motion before the strike.

Zulu stood atop a jagged ridge, his silhouette sharp against the "fire burning bright" in the distance. He knew that "jungle law would raise its head" tonight. As the drums began their hypnotic dance—the very same tribal percussion that would one day inspire John Luongo’s legendary club remixes —Zulu felt the time was right.

Experience the high-energy track that inspired this legend, featuring the signature tribal percussion and 80s synth sound: Zulu (Full Length Version) The Quick - Topic YouTube• Apr 27, 2023 The Quick - Zulu (1981) [HQ]

One evening, the distant sound of echoed across the plains—a sign that the "pomp and English circumstance" had finally arrived at the edge of the Delta. The world was changing; "London Bridge was falling down" in the minds of those who saw the old ways disappearing, and the "gold was slipping through hands" as foreign powers moved over the sand.

By the time the sun rose, the invaders found only empty tents and the lingering echo of drums. Zulu the Quick had vanished, leaving behind nothing but a legend that would eventually find its way from the dusty plains to the neon-lit dance floors of 1981 .

He didn’t wait for the heavy-hearted sergeant majors to find him. Instead, he became a "bird in flight". He moved with a slap-bass rhythm, weaving through the "bloody sand" and the "mobile posters" of a world he no longer recognized. To the scouts, he was nothing but a blur, a "Zulu man" appearing and disappearing like a ghost in the tall grass.
