For each monster sent to the graveyard, a piece of the duelist's memory is erased. Mai's memories of Téa are the first to vanish.
The episode begins with the selection of the next two duelists. Mai is chosen to face Marik , who has fully succumbed to his darker side, Yami Marik . Marik intends to eliminate anyone who could help his alter ego regain control, including the unconscious Odion.
