Set shortly after World War I, the story follows (George Montgomery), the son of the legendary explorer Allan Quatermain. Harry travels to Africa to finish his father's quest for the fabled mines of King Solomon.

Along the way, they rescue Erica Neuler (Taina Elg), the daughter of a German missionary.

Harry initially harbors deep-seated resentment toward Erica because his mother and sister were killed by a German U-boat during the war.
