Pushing Hands (Chinese title: Tui Shou ) is a that marks the feature directorial debut of Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee . It is the first installment in his "Father Knows Best" trilogy, which also includes The Wedding Banquet (1993) and Eat Drink Man Woman (1994). Plot Summary

The film follows (played by Sihung Lung), a retired Tai Chi master from Beijing who moves to Westchester, New York, to live with his son Alex , American daughter-in-law Martha , and grandson Jeremy . The central conflict arises from the culture clash and communication barriers between Mr. Chu and Martha, a writer suffering from writer's block who finds his presence disruptive.
