Summer takes a job at "Needful Things," an antique shop run by Mr. Needful (revealed to be the Devil, voiced by Alfred Molina ). The shop gives away items that fulfill desires but carry ironic, tragic curses. Finding the premise "hackneyed," Rick opens a competing shop, Curse Purge Plus! , where he uses science to neutralize the curses for a fee, effectively putting the Devil out of business.
