When Steven Spielberg and director Robert Zemeckis approached Huey Lewis, they didn't have a specific script for him. They just knew Marty McFly would be a huge Huey Lewis fan. Lewis was hesitant at first; he had never written for a film and famously told them, "I don't want to write a song called Back to the Future ".
