The story follows (Aly Michalka), a cynical pre-law student at Lancer University in Memphis. When she unexpectedly loses her academic scholarship due to her mother's irresponsibility, her only option to stay in school is to join the Hellcats , the university's legendary cheerleading squad, which offers its own scholarships.
