Adam learns of an eternal war between the Gargoyle Order, led by Queen Leonore, and the demons, commanded by Prince Naberius . Naberius seeks Frankenstein’s journal to learn the secret of reanimating the dead, planning to raise an army of thousands of soulless corpses to be possessed by demons. After living in isolation for 200 years, Adam returns to modern society to stop the demons and ultimately discovers his own inner humanity . The story begins in 1795 with Victor Frankenstein creating a soul-less being from corpses. After Victor's death, the creature—later named —is attacked by demons but rescued by Gargoyles , who are revealed to be heavenly protectors of humanity.
