Lütis was a creature of shimmering silver scales, each larger than a shield, and eyes that glowed like twin moons in the deep. He was commanded to swim in the Sea of Eternity—the cosmic waters that exist beneath everything.
In the time before time, when the sky was a thin veil and the oceans had no bottom, the Creator realized the Earth needed a foundation. It could not simply float in the void, for it would drift into the cold darkness.
The Creator first placed the Earth upon the horns of a Great Blue Ox. But the Ox, strong as it was, grew restless. Every time it flicked its ears or shifted its weight, the mountains crumbled and the ground shook with terrifying quakes. To steady the Ox, the Creator summoned , the Giant Fish.
The Fish positioned itself under the Ox, and the Ox placed its hooves upon the Fish’s broad, flat back. For eons, Lütis remained perfectly still. He understood that the weight he carried wasn't just soil and stone, but the dreams, songs, and lives of every living thing.
The Fish, momentarily tempted by the thought of freedom, twitched its great tail. On the surface of the Earth, the oceans retreated and rose in massive waves, and the very foundations of the world groaned.
However, a great shadow—a spirit of chaos—whispered into the Fish's ear. "Why do you stay in the dark?" the shadow hissed. "You are the strongest of all. If you dive deep, the world will drown, and you will finally be free of this burden."
