According to popular folklore, Baba Sidh Chano was originally associated with the immensely strong wrestler Chanur from the Dwapar Yuga.

His major shrines are located in the scenic hills of Himachal Pradesh (such as the famous shrines in Dangra, Kangra, and Hamirpur) as well as border areas of Punjab.

In rural Punjab and Himachal, farmers offer prayers to him to protect their livestock and crops from diseases and evil eyes.
